The Case
One of the most dangerous killers in the country died in prison. After his death, his cellmate revealed that the killer had bragged about committing a famous murder that had never been linked to him and for which the wrong man had been convicted.
Investigators searched his cell and found notebooks filled with thousands of dates and cryptic notes. They compiled the dates into a single file and identified 15 clues hidden among the writings.
They believe those clues point to the date of the murder. But without that date, they have no way of knowing which murder it was, which case to reopen, or which man in prison is innocent.
